VIRAL INFECTIONS IN MS: WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED FROM COVID-19

This program is designed to address multiple topics germane to the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple sclerosis. The program will begin with an overview of the potential role of viruses in the pathogenesis of MS and their contributions to MS exacerbations by Dr. Kottil Rammohan. A general overview of SARS-CoV2 infection and associated neurological disorders with particular attention to demyelinating autoimmune disorders triggered by the virus will be given by Dr. Joseph Berger. The effect of the virus on the course of MS and the effect of disease modifying therapies on the course of COVID-19 will be addressed by Dr. Anne Cross. A discussion of the effects of DMTs on vaccine response will be provided by Dr. Amit Bar-Or. Question and answer sessions will follow each discussion.
